1，背景常识题--“铺好垫脚石”
官方指南OG上指出ACT科学推理考查的内容涵盖生物学、化学、物理学以及地球与空间科学（包括地质学、海洋学、天文学、气象学等），虽然从专业知识的难度与深度上来说，与国内高考的理综部分相差甚远，但是ACT考试包括多达40个科学话题，只有积累一定的科学背景才能快速读懂题意，甚至有些题目直接考的就是科学知识，比如试卷70C-27题： Assume that the gas-giant planets and the non-gas-giant planets (terrestrial planets) in another solar system in our galaxy have spatial and size relationships the same as those of the gas-giant planets and the terrestrial planets in our solar system. Given this assumption， in the other solar system， an existing gas-giant planet would most likely be ：A. located at a greater distance from the star than would any of the terrestrial planets.
B. located at a lesser distance from the star than would any of the terrestrial planets.

如果我们认识类地行星(terrestrial planets)与气体巨行星(gas-giant planets)的概念，知道就八大行星而言，比较接近太阳的水星、金星、地球和火星称为类地行星，而较远的行星如木星、土星、天王星和海王星主要由气体所组成，称为类木行星，也叫做气体巨行星。有了这样的科学知识背景的话便可以立刻得出正确答案A。 2，专业术语题-- “夯实基础关” 虽然ACT科学推理部分相对于SAT考试对英语词汇的要求来讲要低很多，但是掌握一定的科学词汇是必要的，因为只有在读懂题意的前提下我们才能够顺利答题，所以不可以小觑单词的威力。比如试卷66F-31题： During osmosis， water migrates through a semipermeable barrier. The osmosis referred to in the passage occurs through which of the following structures ？ A. Chromosomes B. Nuclear envelope C. Cell membrane D. Rough endoplasmic reticulum 这道题是关于生物学方面渗透作用的，问的是以下哪种结构可以作为半渗透屏障？选项依次是染色体，核膜，细胞膜和内质网，首先如果没有生物这方面的专业词汇，那么我们便很难读懂题干要求，更别提怎么作答了，再者也考查了生物学方面的基础知识即细胞膜的功能。所以考前一定要好好过一遍平时影响到自己做题的专业词汇，例如生物方面的细胞器以及生物系统 （消化系统，呼吸系统）等等。 3，文字细节题--“瞄准突破口”科学推理部分不仅包括简单的数据定位题，还有就是学生比较头疼的文字细节题。如果题干中没有明确的数据定位信息，而是诸如“According to the passage”／“According to the information”等这种抽象概括的描述的话，多数情况应该定位文中的简介部分也就是开头的背景原理介绍。
如果题干中细致提到实验的某个细节，比如“为什么在连接压力计前要等5分钟”，“为什么要对鱼贴标签作记号”等，就要找到实验部分的语句描述，搭配实验内容进行作答了。比如试卷72C-30题：
Based on the description of the well plate and how it was used，the empty well plate would most likely have been which of the following colors？ A. Black B. Blue C. Red D. White因为题干中细致提到了well plate，所以就要找到相关的文字叙述，一定要关注文中的斜体字，如果括号中有注解信息一定要留心，往往该部分就是解题的关键。所以我们定位到括号中的文字信息“a plate that can hold small volumes of liquids”， 并且文中主要研究的是酸碱指示剂的颜色变化，所以为了避免对颜色的判断产生干扰，well plate 最好为无色或者白色。
